Dear Sorgemacher

Thanks for your efforts to give me informationon on Nepal, these are very welcome every time. I am very much interested in the political situation since I was involved in the uprise against King Birendra in spring 79.

I know how bad the situation in Nepal is, I never was a friend of the whole ruling class under Birendra or Gyanendra and I would never give a comment on the situation in Nepal on the board although I frequently visited the country since then and know quite a few Nepalis.

The only comment I have to give, is that the Maoists are no solution, and I think you look at them too positvely.
Whenever Maoists or Stalinists tried to be the solution of a political problem it ended in slaughtering and dictatorship - however friendly and helpful you may find the Maoists you meet, in the end it is the "party" that decides and if the party decides you have to die the Maoist will butcher you, no matter how close your friendship is.

We had a lot of Maoists in our country as well, very fortunatelly they could get no weapons, but I saw them abusing people for their political "games".
